Who is smarter? Girls or Boys?

i'm a girl and I know I am very smart, but my friends were talking about this question. I just want some opinions. No cursing please!

This is just my opinion. (me a boy)
In general I think girls are smart.
But when girl are in an emotional state, than a boy is smarter.
Guys seems to handle emotions better than girls.
So the answer is...if girls are in emotional state 30% of the day, then girls are smarter..if 50%..then girl and boy are same...if over 50%..then guys are smarter...I do not know how many times a day girl gets emotional, but I assume when they are on the phone or chatting. But besides that I think girls are smarter.

Neither gender is smarter because of their gender. There are smart boys and smart girls. Sometimes one gender may be better at certain things, but it is made up for in the fact that the other gender is better at other things. BUT even with that said, there are girls who excell at "boy" things and boys who excell at "girl" things. People are all unique and have their own unique strengths and weaknesses. EVERYONE is good or smart at something!! and EVERYONE is bad or dumb at something. Just always do your BEST, try your hardest, and be respectful and your life will turn out fine!!

How can they "prove" girls are smarter and vice versa? It's not like they would give IQ tests to every girl in the world and find out the average score. They wouldn't do it for the guys either. Think about it?

All these replies about girls being smarter is disgusting. It's not even obvious one way or another.

this is a tough question to answer....girls mature faster than and the main reason girls are smart per say...........is that apply themselves harder at their lessons than boys..boys usually have alot of others going on in their head than school work or whatever...it has to interest the boys more to keep them going on the issue.but don't get me wrong there are alot of boys that are better smart..one day when we have a woman president then i would have to say that women maybe smarter..but not till day comes ...and i think it might happen within the few yrs...

This question is stupid. Since your friends asked it first, then I can't say whether or not you are (and make a judgement on your gender), but it makes almost no sense to ask which gender is more intelligent when we can't even decide on what intelligence is. Is it just solving math problems? We got problems then, because computers are more intelligent than us. Is it social awareness? Maybe girls have an edge, but that's certainly debatable. Is it physical coordination? Just possibly that would be the most important...

In short, there is no real question here to answer.

We can do 3-5 different things at the same time, and we do it very well. Men cant do that..they can bring out the garage, and then cut the grass, and then, kill some spiders in the bedroom, etc. but they have to rest after that watch TV and stuff..we are just diff rent, that's all..

I taught high school for two years. The girls were book smarter, nine out of the ten highest GPAs were girls. But when it came to art (my subject), it was split, 50:50.

Well it really depends on how hard they try! I tried really hard with my schoolwork and I am smart! However think of how many politicians, scientist, mathematicians, lawyers, accountants, etc. are male! So I guess this topic is very debatable! Have a nice day!
