White people are mean to me because I'm black. Black people don't like me because I'm white.
I'm not black, or white. Does anyone else have this problem?

My dad is also mixed. That's why I'm not 50/50.

Luna, you are fearfully and wonderfully made by God. That's all that matters.

How can you be 2/3 and 1/3? Usually these things work in half, quarter, etc. I'm not being mean, I'm just curious. . .

I mean 1 black mom + 1 white dad would be 1/2 & 1/2
1 black grandma + 1 white grandpa + 2 white parents = 1/4 and 3/4

Reponse to your edit - Is your dad half something other than white? If he is, then I could almost see your math, but even then it would be 1/4 Other, 1/4 Black, and 1/2 White. Otherwise, it's still 1/4 and 3/4.

Regardless, I think that people of mixed ethinc background can have the most beautiful and unique features. I don't judge them on their heritage but rather their intelligence, morality, and personality. : )

I am very sorry to hear that. I'll bet you are a very beautiful person too. Both inside and out.

Try not to think of it as whether it is a black or white thing. Just look at it as they are just being jerks and keep moving on.

As you get older you will find that people are much more accepting of others. It is mostly the teens that have this issue.
Immaturity for the most part.

It's times like this where if there were such a thing as magic I would use it to stop this nonsense.

Again I am sorry to here you are having these troubles.

You both black and white. You have the advantage of celebrating both sides of your heritage. That is unique. Be glad that you can experience two different cultures when most people wish they could. I'm sorry that you have experienced the worst of both so far. It's sad that you have to be hated on by both races. But if you keep your head up and do you. Soon, all those haters will want to tell people they knew you back in the day.

You know, some of these problems could be of your own making, I have friends that are racially mixed, as well as a cousin and a nephew. None of them seems to have these problems.

Is it your attitude or race that is the problem.

BTW: Where does 1/3 and 2/3 come from, are you really an alien life form that requires 3 parents?

Well, yes you are black and white. Your both obviously. You need to be yourself. People expect you to associate yourself with a certain race, and if your mixed, they usually expect you be black. (Goes back to the one-drop of old).

You can't let people try to box you in to any one race or culture, because you have two. I live in Southern California, and I kno numerous people of different races, including a girl that is 1/4 Jamaican. 1/4 Chinese and half Irish. Imagine her family reunion!

You should educate yourself on both parts of your heritage, and try to create a sense of identity based on who you are and what you want to identify with. It would be nice if nobody ever made assumptions or labeled people, but that's life. Your unique, because people can't just put you as black or white.

Ignore the ignorant and the haters, just be yourself and do what is most comfortable and true to the kind of person you want to be, not what everybody tells you. Be mixed, don't listen to rap or punk (generalizing, I know), don't get braids or dye your hair blonde. BE YOU.

Half you luck, I reckon - that sounds like a very attractive mix!

One question - would you not be 50 / 50, rather than 2/3 + 1/3?

Lots of mixed race people have that problem. You are not alone. I assume that your parents are respectfully 1/4 & 1/2 black & white mixed.

Ok, lemme share a true story with you...

***Background***
I'm Black as well as most of the people in my family.

For as long as I've known him, my uncle has never dated a Black woman. He has two 1/2 Black, 1/2 White sons. One lives with him, the other in another time zone.

My sister's children have semi-straight hair (their father's grandmother was either Mexican or 1/2 Mexican, I don't remember).

***The story***
At a party, one of my Black cousins went up to one of my uncle's sons and told him he has White hair. The same cousin told my sister that her children have White hair.

Later my sister overheard him ask his older brother "Why don't we have hair like that?"

My point, hate is a mask for jealousy.

I am 1/2 Native American + 1/2 African American. No matter what ancestry or bloodline I share, in the big scheme of things...

I'm 100% Human Being.

That's what I attempt to focus on. Elevate your focus above the level of personality. That's where separation and intolerance live.

Namaste.

I wish you Peace.

You shouldn't generalize people based on their apperance. It sounds like you've put way to much thought into it or your watching too much news. If someone is pointing out paticular things to make you feel uncomfortable then it's because they feel less attractive than you.

Remember you are 100% human. We are all of one blood. Descendents of Adam & Eve
