I struggled with acne for years and I finally found the solution that works for me. We have been fooled, tricked, deceived, and just plain lied to. It's time that someone put a stop to it, and everyone learn the truth!
Those of us who suffer from acne have usually been given 2 choices and neither of them work:
1. Over the counter remedies such as cleansers, creams, ointments, etc. These things have been proven over and over again not to work. Why? It does not address the root cause of the problem.
2. Go see a doctor and or dermatologist. They will generally prescribe prescription drugs which include topicals and or antibiotics. This, too, has been proven over and over again not to work. Why? It does not address the root cause of the problem.
I found a step-by-step program that cured my acne and it has never come back. It is amazing and doesn’t use any drugs or doctors. The truth is that acne can be cured…if we know the secret the doctors and drug companies don’t want us to know.
There is a great website: http://cure-my-acne.info/3daycure/ that has all the details. I really suggest you check it out and see if it works as well for you as it did for me.

All acne products contain either salcylic acid or benzoyl peroxide. Daily use is the key. They vary widely in concentration. The only real difference is in the base product the medication is mixed into. That's what can cause more acne to blossom. Give a product a two month trial. If you're not satisfied, try another. Hopefully you'll outgrow it eventually. Then there are a few of us who are treating wrinkles and acne.

My sons and I like the Neutrogena skin care line. They have a good facial wash for acne prone skin which I find actually doesn't rip my face off. And it does clear up my skin. Unfortunately, it's normal for some products to actually cause an increase in the acne for a week or two. That's because your skin is reacting to the active ingredients. Be patient. It will get better.

acne is a serious problem that if left untreated will definetely leave scars in your face, however do not panic, I had acne for 6 years and everyone has been telling me that acne will disappear once I get older! I made the mistake of listening to them, you should not do the same mistake!
I then went to a dermatologist and this dermatologist suggested that I buy a cream and get some vitamins, I believe that the anti acne vitamins helped me a lot, I suggest you visit this acne resource centre
http://charticles.atspace.com/acne.htm
and whilst you are there check some of their great products, and compare different prices.

I used to use SalAc. You have to ask the pharmacist, but do not need a prescription. It is not harsh, gets rid of excess oil and helps prevent and clear up pimples. Only $14 and lasts for about 2 months. I have sensitive skin and the other stuff, like Clearasil and such, killed my skin. A friend tried ProActive-what a rip off.
I also used Eucerin moisturizer. Totally not greasy and didn't break me out. It made my skin heal easier.
Also, drinking green tea and not soda did a wonder for my skin. (I drank Diet Coke all the time. Now I drink Lipton Green Tea. Silly enough, but I can tell the difference.)
Exercise also helped. My skin cleared quickly and my face had never looked better.

Acne Associated with Dairy Intake
A new Harvard study links dairy products to adolescent acne. A group of 47,000 women from the Nurses’ Health Study was asked to provide information about several aspects of their diet during high school as well as any incidence of physician-diagnosed severe teenage acne. Researchers noted a positive association with total milk and skim milk consumption, along with instant breakfast drinks, sherbet, cottage cheese, and cream cheese. No association was found with several other foods often thought to affect acne, including soda, french fries, chocolate candy, and pizza. The scientists postulate that hormones and bioactive ingredients found in milk may be responsible.

Get your GP or Doctor to prescribe minocin, which is an antibiotic that affects the way the acne bacteria reproduce. For external use you can ask for stiemycin, a lotion that has an antibacterial effect. Alternative to the lotion is witchhazel stick.
I found that washing and using witchhazel made things worse for me, though. Stiemycin works well, but I havent used it in a long time. The minocin really sorts out acne, if you get it.
Good luck.
