4 yrs of undergrad. you take the m-cat at this stage to gain acceptanceto med school
4 years of med school - You have to pass step one (USMLE) to get an MD to start your intern yr and graduate from med school.
1 year intern
3 yrs residency as long as you don't have a specialty that requires longer-during the last yr you take the boards.
Then a fellowship is optional.

Looks like 12 yrs roughly
