Only 13 weeks, my insurance will not cover an ultrasound until 20 weeks unless there are problems, so I'm looking for a fun way to guess. No, I am not going to take it seriously and decorate the room, just want to have fun cause I can't wait to find out. Thanks! :)

the chinese fortune calendar is fun and says it's 99% accurate. You dr's can't usually (and most won't) do a sonogram to see the sex of a baby 'till you around 17wk or more.
If your under 16wks they have a better chance of telling you when you are due. 17wks + they have a better chance to tell the sex of the baby. but here are some old wive's tale:
if you gain weight in your face it's a girl; on your backside it's a boy
hang your wedding ring on a piece of thread over your stomach-back & forth=girl circle= boy
belly shape..round=girl bullet shape=boy (i think by our 9th month we all look like a bullet! ha ha)
heart rate myth.. fast=girl slow=boy
if you crave sweets=girl salty=boy

Its been a long time since they did this so I hope I am remembering right but my family always used to tie a thread around a pencil and hold it above the wrist if it went in circles it was a girl if it went back and forth it was a boy.
Also if you are carrying high its a girl low its a boy
If its in the front boy in the back girl
If you look better boy if you look worse girl
I am sure I will remember more!

Tie a piece of string to a ring (preferably a wedding ring) and tie the other end around the eraser tip of a pencil. Lay back and have the hubster dangle the ring around your belly. If it swings left to right, it's a boy. If it swings up and down it's a girl. If it swings in a circle, it doesn't want you to know yet!

I have a sad story.... I am 23 weeks preg. at 20 weeks i was SOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO happy and i went for my visit to find out what the sex of the baby was and i laid there and waited and she said oh man the baby is backwards and THEY COULDNT TELL ME also they said everything is going so good they dont need to do another one... Also dont believe the belly one my friend carried like she was havin a boy and SUPRISE it was a girl

I jsut did this, and it was correct, I am having a boy... have fun and good luck! BTW, they won't even be able to tell the sex very easily till about 20 weeks anyways.

I once found a website that had TONS of these listed. One of my personal favorites? If you like the heels of a loaf of bread it will be a boy, if you like the middle, it will be a girl.

an OB nurse told me this one and she was right in my pregnancy. if the babies heart beat is 140 or higher its a girl, if its lower than 140 its a boy. my babies heartbeat was always above 140, maybe one time it was below, and i had a girl. congrats.

Murphy's Law would say that if you want a girl, it's a boy and vice versa. It's about as accurate as anything else! :-)

If your belly is round like a basketball it's a girl, if oblong like a football its a boy.
