The first thing that you have to do is multiply in order to get rid of the parenthesis.
3x - 4(x-3) = 2(3x+4)
3x - 4x + 12 = 6x + 8 Remember that - * - = +
12 - 8 = 6x - 3x + 4x
Leave the x on one side, remember that when it is positive on one side, it changes sign when you pass them to the other side.
4 = 7x
x = 4/7 Pass the 7 dividing

3x - 4(x - 3) = 2(3x + 4)
3x - 4x + 12 = 6x + 8
-x + 12 = 6x + 8
-7x = -4
x = (4/7)

the answer is x= 4/7
3x-4(x-3) = 2(3x-4)
3x-4x+12 = 6x + 8
-8+12 = 6x - 3x - 4x
4 = 7x
4/7 = x

3x - 4(x-3) = 2(3x + 4)
simpliffy the brackets;
--> 3x - 4x + 12 = 6x + 8
--> -x + 12 = 6x + 8
subtract both sides by 12
--> -x +12 - 12 = 6x + 8 - 12
--> -x = 6x -4
subtract both sides by 6x
--> -x - 6x = 6x -4 -6x
--> -7x = -4
divide both sides -7
--> -7x/-7 = -4/-7
--> x= 4/7
therefore x = 4/7 or 0.571

Ok, so first, multiply out the parathesis on both sides. you get
3x-4x+12=6x+8
then combine like terms, in other words, move the x's to one side and the numbers to the other.
3x-4x-6x=8-12, which simplifies to
-7x = -4, now divide both sides by -7, and you get
x = 4/7
