If he lies to you now he always will and you'll never be able to trust him.

The next time you catch him in a lie, stop him right in his tracks. This guy has been lying all his life, it didn't just suddenly start and he's not going to SUDDENLY stop. He needs to get a grip, get counseling and work on his problem.
Perhaps you'd be better off without him, why spend your future with someone who'd rather lie than tell the truth? You sound like a reasonable person... move on. You deserve much better than that!!

You can't. Everyone has character flaws, some are condescending, some are liars, some are cheats, some are fake, some are martyrs, some are door mats. If you guy's happens to be lying then that's that. Barring any kind of serious personality deconstruction, that's something he's stuck with and something you cannot change. Just move on and find someone with a flaw you can deal with.

Stop believing him - push him to the test on each thing he says, control him for a while by always knowing what he does, where, with whom, and ask him, and show him he is lying - until he understands he can't lie anymore.
He won't like it, he'll feel controlled, but if he has nothing to hide, he will stop lying quickly, I think.

Find a new one. Once they start lying, its hard to get them to stop, and who knows what they are lying about.

Find out the reasons. If there are none, ditch him. There is nothing more annoying than having a pathological liar as a boyfriend. Remember, a man should always BE a man, not a coward.

Give what you get....Real respect for your guy /girl demands that there are no lies whatsoever. How would he react if you were to tell the lie....just give it back.
