Gourmet magazine lists three of Chicago's restaurants in its list of 'America's Best 50 Restaurants' guide

At number 7 on the list, best in Chicago: Charlie Trotter's
Second at 21st, Topolobampo
Third at 33rd, Blackbird

Charlie Trotter's is one of those 'several small courses' type of restaurant. I ate at one this year for the first time. It was suprisingly filling for as little as I ate, but I did have lunch at a buffet before the dinner there. (My wife warned me about the portions.) You go, you eat, you pay, you talk about how little food there was and how much it costs with your friends. It can be fun!

"Charlie prefers his cuisine to be experienced in a progression of petite courses with each course laying the foundation for the next."
