Most likely lost from both S and P subshells but two electrons parked in a D or F subshell associated with one main quantum number lower. Ions want to achieve a noble gas configuration, which means no or all electrons of the same main quantum number S and P orbitals filled.

Lead is located in group 4 (or 14 depending on how you count). It's outer energy level has 2 electrons in the s subshell and 2 electrons in it's p subshell. Lead (II) has a +2 charge, so it will lose the two in the p subshell.
