My daughter refused peas for the first 5 times I tried to give them to her. Now, she eats them without even any fruit mixed in. They say it can take 15 tries before your baby will eat some things.
Update, not only will my daughter eat peas by themselves, but she now eats table foods including chicken, beef, avocado, beans, yogurt, pasta, as well as squash, green beans, sweet potato and all of her fruits too. This is a kid who at 6 months would only breastfeed and at 8 months would only eat pears and breastmilk. So, don't worry!!

It means stop trying. If you want, try again in a couple of weeks. It could be the sign of an allergy, or it could mean that he doesn't like it. In either case, he may get over it in time. In the meantime, go on to a different food--banana, apple, brown rice, or whatever.
The above applies if you are offering him *peas* as opposed to so-called "baby food" mush. If it's the latter, just stop. Give him real food--it's tastier and more nutritious. Even "baby food" manufacturers can't do much to ruin sweet potato, but peas are another story altogether. Buy them in the produce department and let him know what food really is.

there is a great debate about what to start kids on, many people say start with the green veggies because they are more bitter, but if you have tried for ten days to get your son to eat the peas then you should switch to another green veggie such as green beans or try a peas and carrot blend. i started my son on the green veggies and the orange ones at the same time which i blended alot of flavors together and he ate them up. and i also found that following the pea taste with a sweet taste will get him to eat them more because the bitterness of the peas is not still in his mouth. if this does not work try to puree fresh peas with a little shake of splenda sweetner to try and knock out some of the bitternes. trust me baby food can be a bit bitter i have tried them all, i have a 4 yr old and a 5 mo old

Peas can cause gas & did for my son. He didn't like them at all & still doesn't (9 yrs old now). Try a different vegetable like carrots, green beans or corn. Try the peas again in another week or two. If he still spits it out, don't worry over it. He may like them later on in life.

You might want to mix just a little bit of the sweet potatoes with the peas, just so he still gets a little taste of what is familiar to him.

Keep trying!! It takes several attempts at new foods for most babies to accept it. It took me about 5 or 6 tries with some things with my youngest son.

You can keep trying them, he might like them eventually. My dd ate solids for about a week at six months and then refused them almost completely for three more months.
