Yes, but it will make a 2nd file and you'll have to delete the first:

1. Load up MS Paint or some other graphic program.
2. Click on File > Save As.
3. On the "Save as type" dropdown, you will find a bunch of file types you can save it as.
4. Choose which file type you want to save it as and save where you want to save the file.

EXTRA: Despite the myth, you do NOT need a program to do this. You only need stuff like that for Audio and Video files.

Open the image file on an image editing program, preferable Adobe Photoshop or something of that sort. Then go to File, Save As, and Save as JPEG. Press save and it will now be a jpeg.

download a free program such as Acdsee or graphics workshop and turn the program into a .jpg. Or open Paint in Windows (it comes with it) and open the picture to be saved as a .jpg and choose "File" "save as" and choose ".jpg" from the drop down menu. Good luck. If you do it with Paint, there will be some loss of quality through the transition to jpg, that's why i use ACDSee or Graphics Workshop, the picture is pretty much the same.

Try Picasa, Which Can help you convert Pictures into main file types, like JPG, BMP, GIF,TIFF.

A free software download from Google.

You can drag and drop to arrange your albums and make labels to create new groups. Picasa makes sure your pictures are always organised.

Picasa also makes advanced editing simple by putting one-click fixes and powerful effects at your fingertips. And Picasa makes it a snap to share your pictures – you can email, print photos home, make gift CDs, and even post pictures on your own blog.
