I am NOT worried!

I'm just curious to know how well you can perceive other people's feelings.

And if others see you the same way you see yourself.

I am not asking if you worry about how they see you and feel about you(you can always tell me that, too),but if you can perceive their feelings and how you present yourself to others.

i know how i THINK i perceive their feelings toward me... but without coming right out and asking it's hard to know for sure if i'm right. so instead i just go off of my perceptions of them... and i think i'm a pretty accurate judge. peoples' actions speak louder than their words, anyway, so here goes...

from how my friends act toward me, i'd say that they think i'm someone they like hanging around with, but only periodically. we find time in our schedules to get together when we can, but don't fret when we can't. and i feel the same way about most of them too, there are very few of my friends who i could be with 24/7. and if i was around someone 24/7, they'd be my...

wonderful better half: we communicate often with each other, and frequently it's about just this. not to air any intimate conversations, but suffice it to say that we BOTH feel like we've known each other forever. she is my rock, truly. and she is a good example for your question... we often DO know what the other is thinking, and we also know exactly where we sit with each other. this is part of our love.

so far as my family (my immediate family), we have been around each other long enough to be acutely aware of our reactions to each other. while time and geography have played a role in separating us, when we DO find the time to get together, it's almost as though i'm back in my adolescence, and my siblings are too, and mom and dad are 25 years younger again... you CAN go back again, even for just a short time. no need to 'change our minds' about each other after all that time. i know what they're thinking about me... all 5 of 'em!

ahh, strangers (friends who haven't met!) and maybe if we HAD met, we wouldn't be friends, either! people who you meet for the first time will base their impressions on that first meeting: you and i do it too, we all do. i try to make a good first impression for this reason, but if a stranger is someone i'll likely never see again, i don't fret the repercussions if i screw up.

to close, i THINK i'm perceptive in knowing how people feel about me. i haven't been proven wrong too often. but one can never be 100% sure!

Moon RIver? Great song.

I don't care so much anymore about what people think about me. I know that people are hardly ever satisfied with their own selves so how could I satisfy them? I'm pretty sure I have my fair share of negative and positive perceptions coming from both family and friends. However, I don't know what anyone is thinking, and even if I did, I can't control that, so if they have a problem with me then it's not my problem and I don't feel the need to sacrifice who I am and how I feel for the sake of someone else. I'm sure just about everyone who knows me has some idea that I'm going to be my own person whether they like it or not.

Yes, Moon, I believe I do know how those that matter most, feel about me.

Am I sure?
One can never really be sure I guess, but their actions speak louder than words, so I am as sure as I need to be. :)

How do others perceive me?
I think they perceive me as genuinenly kind, easy-going, and compassionate. My co-workers see me as very stressed when under pressure. My family sees me as very honest, trustworthy, and extremely self-critical.

Do they change their minds after getting to know me?
I don't believe so, no. What they see, is pretty much what they get, right from the start. I've luckily never had anyone say to me, "wow, you aren't the person that I thought you were", after knowing me for a while. Of course, they could be THINKING otherwise, but i've never FELT as if they were, lol.

As for your last question, I believe that my friends are ok with what they see in me, based on how they act around me, and how they respond to me. As far as my family goes, I think they are ok with most things they see in me as well, but would like for me to be more self-confident. I am getting better in this area, the older I get. :)

It seems that you want to creat good impressions; it is good. First, do what you think is the best. Second, try to step aside and be the third party and give yourself the impartial assessment, feel yourself as if you were some other people. Third, read some books about social skills I believe there are so many other there.

honestly i don't care how people perceive me. it is a waste of time to care how people perceive you. if you waste time worrying about this then your life will never be satified. you will be a people pleaser and in other words an *** kisser, and a door mat. just live life and be happy that is most satisfying. many people don't like me when they meet me cuz i say what i feel then when they get to know me they like me better but i don't care because i just live my life. i think that is what you should do. just be yourself.

Good luck cause when you consume yourself with whether or not people like you you don't live your life to its fullest capacity.

I learned along time ago along with many heartbreaks that it dosent matter what anyone thinks of me or how I live my life. I try to live by the golden rule that I do unto others as they do me. And I teach my kids the same way,. I teach them that names or insults will never hurt them. I sometimes have a good relationship with my family, about as much as you can with a dysfunctional one as I have. Im the poor one, but I live by my means and I dont expect anything from anyone that I cant give myself. Some like me, Some dont. My heart is beautiful.

my family thinks I'm childish
my friends think I'm funny and a good company but a little unreliable
people that meet me for the first time think i talk too much, but this makes them feel comfortable
i don't know if they change their minds after they get to know me better, never asked them.

They must like me alot. Despite my faults and habits, they keep hanging around and ask for nothing in return.
