Press and hold the set button until the compass spins around continually. Then start turning your car in circles (max ten)until the display sets to true north(stops spinning). You should make sure there are not any hydro wires or tall buildings when you set the compass, as the compass will not set if there are. To set the zone you will have to give the state or province you are in to calibrate the compass.
