I was outside of Target the other day and i saw a pregnant woman trying to light her cigarette. Her light wasn;t working so i offered. Was that the right thing.

it was nice that you offered I guess but smoking was really the last thing she needed to be doing. I wouldve bought her some bubble gum and offered that instead

Well you can look at it this way: If you had not done it someone else would have. It's not like you offering her a light would have stopped her. She would have found someone else or went to her car or something. I think right or wrong was irrelevant to you. In a courteous manner you did the right thing. Don't dwell on it one bit. The decision is hers to make, I think she made it.

she had made her choice to smoke... but i can understand being hesitant in assisting her in possibly hurting her unborn child. it depends.. on whether i already had my lighter out and was smoking too. i would deny having a lighter..if it wasnt out.. but if i was smoking.. i would say.... it is none of my business.. but should you be smoking? hey if she was bold enough to ask for a light.. she can tolerate my editorial for a second.

All your questions are about smoking. Don't you have anything worthwhile to ask?

probably not, but it's not on your head if the woman's baby is born with birth defects....she's responsible for her own body & obviously she doesn't care about it or her baby's
