It is not normal to get large amounts of water on your basement floor. You may have a plugged drain or a hole/crack in the condensate pan on your furnace. Get it checked out by a pro. Good luck.

make sure your furnace is off, basements are usually moise, depending on where your house sits (hopefully above the water table) than you should be able to control that problem, do you have drain tile? to you run a dehumidifier? I'm assuming your basements not finished, if so are you basement walls plastic sheeted behind the finished walls? do you have a sub-pump? that's all I can think of without taking a look at the situation

There should be a drain pan under your unit & drain lines to the outside of your house. Make sure your drain pan is big enough for the unit that you have, and that your drain lines are not clogged. You can install a float that will sense when your drain pan is about to overflow & will shut the unit off until it has drained.

Check that the unit is draining properly. The condensation shouldn't be on the floor.
