hard to say. theres programs from both nations that i've loved, and those that i've hated. and, i'm sure some of the things in US programs are lost on UK watchers because of different cultural things, and lingo, and vice versa. i know i've watched a few UK shows where the characters went on for 10 minutes when i didnt know what they were talking about. that must happen the other way around also. overall, i'd have to say US tv, only because i havent seen as much UK tv that i've enjoyed (and my UK tv exposure has been somewhat limited, i admit, but i really like a few british shows).

Well, I don't live in the UK so I would not be able to say U.K TV is better than American TV. American TV is cheap sometimes. Meaning that producers have mastered making money by showing very cheap programming. So based on that I would have to say U.S television. Besides that's where the U.K gets there ideas from. U.K tv is a bit more subdued and not as entertaining.

UK TV by all means. Even though I'm not from UK or USA, I have cable tv so I watch both. But I prefer UK tv programmes since they have far more interesting shows, not to meantion they put a lot in educating people, and what's the better way then tv!?

I think the BBC and the American broadcasting stations are in bed together on a lot of shows such as trading spaces etc. I do like the "City Gardener" from UK and if you compare "Cash in the Attic" between the UK and USA I would have to say UK as the guys teeth in the American "Cash in the Attic look to phony .. but I grew up in the British Isles and everyone there watched American shows as they found their own British shows BORING

Depends what type of program you are looking for.
Comedy, it'd have to be UK tv. It's no-holds-barred, there's a massive selection, and we also get the best of the US, on top of the brilliaint comedy of the UK, past and present.

News, it'd have to be the World News channels which are mainly US.
I can't say i've had much US tv experience, but Bowling for Columbine has put me off US news for life.

Tbh, it's a decision that you have to make yourself. Experience both.
I don't think one can be outright better than the other, because it depends on what you're looking for, each to their own and that lark.

All US shows are ripoffs of UK anyway, so UK is the best. I love the old British comedies like Are You Being Served? and The Thin Blue Line

The Beeb rules! I wish I weren't a poor college student...I would love to have digi cable with BBC America!

Plus, USA steals all of the Brit's good shows: while you were out, most haunted, the office, and too many more to name!

I tend to think US programming is much more entertaining than the UK programming.

On the flipside, I'm increasingly finding that UK news is much better than the fluffled, or toned down US news.

I'd have to say the U.S., but the U.K. has some good ones too.
