Absolutely not..Coach of the Year, 60 wins a new Franchise record, improved defense over the course of the season to the Mavs, BEATING the Spurs, getting to their first ever NBA Finals..what more can you ask for a guy for his first official season as a head coach?

Avery Johnson and the Mavs had a stellar year. He will undoubtedly be back. They are just one big post man away from being NBA champions. Hopefully, their defense will improve too. Maybe they could acquire Ben Wallace of the Detroit Pistons since he is becoming a free agent. The only problem with him is shooting free throws (but Shaq and the Heat survived that problem). Avery Johnson is one of the top coaches in the league.

Avery Johnson will not get fired this year. The Mavs would have to be insane. Cuban is nuts, but not that nuts.

I think if he did get fired, that would be the stupidest thing that team could do. He is a great coach. This is the first time the Mavs have gone to the finals. It would be extremely stupid. And I agree with you, Miguel, it was stupid for them to let Nash go.

He doesn't deserve to get fired because no other coach would have done better with that team. The Heat just had more firepower. 5 of them were all stars. They just underacheived in the reg season from pressure and criticism but managed to pull together in the playoffs.

Who really cares? The Mavs are nothing more than a bunch of crybabies. Period. My 8 yr old son has better sportsmanship than the entire Mavericks team and that includes their childlike owner Mrk Cuban. Dallas sucks anyway....The city sucks, their teams sucks and everything else even affiliated with Dallas sucks...except the movie "Debbie Does Dallas"!!!!

No way. Not at all. He did the best in the Mavericks's franchise history and the series could very nearly have gone their way. He'll be a Mav coach next year for sure.

I really don't like him, honestly and personally, but I don't think that he'll be fired just because the Mavericks lost to the Heat. (no offense 2 mavs fans.) I mean, professionally, he is a great coach and he does his job well.

Wow, you really need to watch basketball, and know what your talking about b4 you ask silly questions, check out the Mavs record this year and how far they went this season then ask yourself. It was unprecedented in Mavs history.

He was COY, got 60 wins, and made it to the Finals. Oh yeah, he'll definitely be fired. What a stupid question.
