They all look skank looking. Like they would do anything in the bed type. Is it just me or am I the only one seeing this! Next time turn on your TV and watch a female newsreporter from the desk especially and tell me they don't look slutty? If you notice it like I did you'll probably ball out laughing on the floor!

probably because the better the reporters look the more attention their news channel will get. Example- Fox has maria bartiroma. she looks like a slut all the time. sex sells. the sluttier (i dont know if thats a word) the reporters look the more money the channel gets. plain and simple.

I don't think this is true in the NYC area. Most of the female reporters range from presentable to pretty. Our reporters also come from all sorts of ethnic backgrounds.
It's possible, though, that in quite a few TV markets, a woman has to look like a supermodel (or a schlutte--spelling modified) to be even considered for television--even if she's doing something as serious as reporting.

LOL ya it's gross. I actually met an anchorman and woman for our local news once, and the man was just normal or whatever, but the woman looked really nasty up close. On TV she was sort of pretty ( if maybe a bit skanky) but when I met her, I surprised at how short she was (like 5 feet tall - guess she was sitting on a phone book on the news!) and her makeup was CAKED on! She was gross.

Makeup and lighting play critical factors and news organizations want to have attractive news anchors. Hence, Ron Burgundy in "Anchorman."
But I was in Orlando I think it was and there was an add for this news team and it was some foreign-looking news anchor and my intial reaction was indeed "s!ut". I have no clue why and I totally forget what the picture was, I just remember the thought.

It seems the only way a woman can get ahead in the media or even in the workplace is to dress like a slut. I place the blame on both men and women .. MEN find the slut appearance irresistable as it never fails to turn them on. ( HIRED) WOMEN capitalize on sex appeal to get ahead because of their lack of a strong role model and limited intelligence..

The make up and lighting...trust me..I used to do a local stations makeup and its about 3" thick when done..When they try to hide their age it just gets thicker and worse in my opinion..Some look like clowns to me and others seem to know just how much they need so maybe the one you see is not making good choices..=)

But to be honest, women in the media are still used for sex appeal to draw viewers.
