seinheuser (dunno bout spelling) are very good and have ambient noise cancellers.

Nike makes a good pair with Philips. they are called vapor flight. i had trouble finding earphones that would even fit in my ears, and these are adjustable and don't fall out.
and they were only 25 bucks

for best sound: apple's (the ones that come with ipods)
for running: blueman, a small arabian company. they can take sweat and work with great sound
