my car started to miss and smoke came out of the tail pipe. I got a
scanner and diagnistic test a code came back p0304 and p1399 how dO i find out what the code means

P0304 is misfire on 4th cylinder, 1399 is manufacterer spesific code but you'd have to fix miss on 4th first anyway, smoke, if its white you probably blew headgasket and coolant is getting into 4th cylinder causing it not to fire

p0304 mis-fire number 4 cyl. p1399 not sure what that is If your car is a Jeep or Chrysler it says wait to start lamp circuit. Googled for answer

p0304 is misfire detected on cylinder 4, i'm not familar with p1399. P1399 is likley manufacturer specific code.

either chilton or haynes manual for that car should have it ...good luck
