inside a book?
I remember wanting to live inside the Berenstein Bear's treehouse when I was younger. I still think it would be cool.

A few times and always in the worlds of the same author - Jonathan Carroll.

The novel that sticks out in my mind this morning is "White Apples" ...."God is a tile mosaic, chaos is a fat man in a cheap blue suit and death is a learning experience for the deceased. Vincent Ettrich, a likable rogue and womanizer, who is shocked out of his daily routine one day by the memory that he died a short time before. With the help of a guardian angel, Vincent discovers that he has been summoned back to existence by the spirit of his unborn child with his lover Isabelle Neukor."

The worlds and stories Jonathan Carroll creates are metaphysical, magical, wholly absorbing and if I could dive into a book, I would choose one of his.

It was Where the Wild Things Are for me. And Monster at the End of this Book. Strange because neither looks as nice and chipchy as the bear house. I had the plastic replica of their home. the top popped open. Really nice....I wonder where that is.
