Mr. Clean Magic Eraser. I have 4 kids and a whole house of real hardwoods and they are amazing. They don't leave water or chemicals on the floor to damage it and clean anything.

If the scuff marks are from shoes, just use a " Magic Eraser" . They work great on floors ! Mr Clean makes them and now there's even cheaper store brand versions.

If it is just from someone's shoes, try an eraser. ( a pencil eraser) You didn't say what caused the marks. I use Goo Gone for every thing else. If it something that has penetrated the wood, you will probably have to sand it out.
