Yes, there is such a thing as an absolute truth. All you have to do is believe in it blindly. For instance, in my case, I believe my husband loves me with all his heart. When he says so it is an absolute truth. I also believe that my parents love me (and my siblings) above all else. I love all of these people and I expect them to take my word as an absolute truth. I also love my children, this too, is an absolute truth. I don't believe in science, math, government or society. I don't necessarily believe in religion. However, it makes me feel good to know that people love me and accept me for who I am, warts and all. The love of the people that I choose to surround myself with is what I've decided to believe in.

Yes, there is such a thing as "absolute truth."
What is unquestionably true to me is that I'm addicted to Yahoo! Answers because it's a world forum that fosters a community of the curious. At times one must sift through a lot to get to those questions that are genuine, or reflect a true need. At times those answers are flip, or cursory or snide when perhaps they shouldn't be, but that, in and of itself, is revealing.
Perhaps you were hoping for a loftier answer. Something along the lines that it's an absolute truth that we: will die; fall in love at least once in our lives; know or know of someone who will be murdered (either intentionally or by accident); are all we touch and see; and so on. Or maybe this quote from the link below sets it up best:
"Truth" is defined as: "the real state of things; fact; reality; an accepted statement or proposition." Some suggest that there is no true reality, only perceptions and opinions, while others argue that there must be some absolute basis. This being said, we can say that there are two diametrically-opposed beliefs related to absolute truth:
Either:
1. There are no absolutes that define reality. Everything is relative, and thus there is no actual reality. There is ultimately no authority for deciding if an action is positive or negative; right or wrong.
Or
2. There are absolute realities, or standards, that define what is real and what is not. Thus, actions can be deemed right or wrong based upon how they measure up against absolute standards.

Yes and no. Absolute truth really is only true for one person, or a group of people; but not everyone. Convincing you of an absolute truth can be stopped very quickly if your personal perception of the world steps in to protect itself when information conflicts with it, with what you feel is true.
Also, many people collect absolute truths without any personal verification of that truth. Many of us believe the world is round, and yet, have you seen the Earth from space, first hand, to attribute that it is indeed an absolute truth? Remember that this supposed absolute truth was scoffed at when it reemerged a few thousand years ago (Yes, the Earth being round was a theory practiced long before we "discovered" it...again).
What is unquestionably true to me? That anything is possible. That if we were to become fully aware i.e. use our brain to at least half of it's potential, we would be limitless in what we could accomplish and accept as new truths. But as you can imagine, not everyone would consider that the truth.

I believe there's at least some absolute truths, but I also think we have no way of telling what they are. Name just about anything you can think of, and someone somewhere has argued about what it is or what it means or why it's there, or whether it even exists to begin with. There's no way to pick which opinion about it is THE truth, because all we have to go on are human opinions that have a more or less equal chance of being wrong. All we can do is pick which beliefs we agree with, or figure out why we disagree with current beliefs and create our own beliefs that address those problems.
This doesn't mean it's wrong to believe things are true. It just means that someday your understanding of the truth may improve and make you revise your beliefs. After all, at some point most of us believed there was nothing special about touching a hot stove.

the only answer can be yes for if the answer was no that would be an absolute truth. Even in the question being asked the asker assumes the answer to be yes otherwise of what importance is perceiving our answers.

No, there's no such thing as absolute truth. And, by Jupiter, that's absolutely true.
Forgive me my flippancy - I couldn't resist.

I think there has to be at least one absolute truth, because the statement "there is no absolute truth" is a paradox. However whether we as humans can know it is a far more problematic question.

Yes...there is absolute truth.
If you believe it to be true, then it is...until otherwise proven true.
I believe that God created earth and me...without question. I believe without question after the fall of man in the Garden of Eden; God had Plan B in place because he knew that giving us a free will would require Plan B.
I know God sent Jesus to take our place on the cross. The punishment for sin is death. I believe this to be an absolute truth. I believe without a doubt that one day Jesus will come back to Earth to claim his bride (his church) and I plan on going back in the rapture. I know I will go without question. I have asked Jesus into my heart, to forgive my sins and I believe he walked the Earth, died on the cross and arose on the third day.
I believe and know without a doubt that he pursues me with his love. He loved me when I was a sinner before he died on the cross. I also know without a doubt that there is no other "religion" on the Earth where there their "god" pursues them for relationship.
When God said to love him with all of my mind, body and soul...that, that was the first and greatest commandment. I believe him. When he said the second greatest commandment is to love our nightbors as ourselves; I believe it as absolute truth.
I know the above statements are all absolute truths. I know they are not only absolute truth...I believe them with my heart, soul...and mind.

Yes. I am sure there is an absolute truth but I am just as sure that, at this point, I don't know what it is.
