I was told she was a boy then when I had her she was a girl so I named her after that song by pink floyd "does anybody here remember vera lynn?.. remember how she said that we would meet again some sunny day..." I really like that song it has a positive view

Vera means faith, belief in Russian. It is also a popular name here. I don't know about other languages.
