Some people would say it's to make up for their small dicks. That's funny but not true. Guys have egos because................well..............you need to ask God on that one honey? He created men. I often wonder why. LOL
I think men have egos to make themselves feel better about who they are. Women are the ones known to have low self esteem. We show it but men have to act strong all the time so women don't think they are weak. But we all know different. Men have emotions too, and that's where the ego comes in. It's to protect their manhood. LOL
This is funny actually. I like this question. And if you ask a man why he has an ego he says he doesn't. That right there proves that it's his ego talking. A man is a walking ego as well as a sperm cell. That's why men think they can get the same girl. It's funny to watch. We already know the game but men with egos think the game is how they play. Actually men are the game. LOL

Perhaps you should try to understand the nature of an/the ego. When you refer to an ego, you are actually refering to theory posed by Sigmund Frued. Although I understand that the word "ego" has been turned into a neologism by pop culture, I feel it takes away from the true nature of what Frued was talking about. So, read some Frued my dear, and you might just find that not all of us men have "big egos".

It is a genetic thing...so what's the issue here? I do not have a big ego. I am pretty good looking, I am well built, I am smart as hell, I am kind, I know more than most, I am a great lover, I am a great driver who never gets lost (almost never) and likes to take the scenic route to wherever I am going, and I know what people think and want. I also know how to do everything very well, better than anyone else (and I will tell them so).This is not egotistical, it is just the facts, maam, just the facts.

i agree but exceptions r always there.
its bcos its there in their instints. u need to understand a basic concept of man's mind.
whenever, if things doesnt happen in the way a guy wants n fails, he prefers not to hav it rather than bowing down their head.
it might b becos they dont lik to hav other's favors. its one of the big weakness of guys.
this could a loophole wher a girl can easily attack him.
the only solution for guys could be --think logically n not emotionally...

Well,.men follow a principle.That is'TECHNICALLY WE ARE JUST HUMAN BEINGS THAT IS JUST MALE AND FEMALE.OUR EGOS ARE WHAT MAKES US MEN AND WOMEN.
This is the reason why men have ego.
