relocating there with children

Just don't be surprised if your children develop gills during the summertime. It's a normal occurrence due to the high humidity. Of course then there's the heat to go along with. Ah, have you ever lived with daily temps in the upper 90's and the humidity stays neck to neck with it? Well, that is a typical Houston summer.

Winter, we wear big coats when the temperature drops into the 60's. Only because we haven't adjusted yet from our lazy, lizard-like existence for the past 5 months of summer. But by mid-winter when the temp is in the 50's (mainly) we do better and just wear a reasonable jacket. Fall and spring are the best times here though, mild and dry.

That is a funny question for anyone who has ever lived in Houston. The answer is that you never really know. Right now it's about 92 degrees but feels like 112 because of the 100% humidity. In Houston you learn always carry an umbrella, because you never know. In the winters it can be cold for a few days, and then you were shorts the next. Our favorite saying is you don't like the weather in Texas, wait a minute.

Christmas time, we usually wear shorts. There is a few cold spells in Jan - Feb. By April, we are wearing as little as we can get away with. Oct. and Nov. are the best. It is very cool weather.
We take the rain when we get it. :)
