cashier sounds just fine to me. People try to build up their resume but sometimes go too far. If you were a cashier, I think you should just put that down. If you had more responsibilities than just standing at the cash register, put those down afterwards in the details of the job.

Don't use euphemisms in your resume. Be straight forward and simple and honest. Let your qualifications and experiences speak for themselves and make sure you have good references. Making up "technical" sounding names for jobs is obvious to the employer interviewing you and it makes you look insecure and possibly dishonest. Example: calling myself a domestic engineer because I have experience cleaning my own house.
