Yes you can....BUT I WOULD ADVICE YOU AGAINST IT.
Are you trying to time the market? If you're wrong, you will be left with No Ammo. for the right time. It's called keeping your powder dry.
If you do the Month - To - Month... A.K.A. "Dollar Cost Average" - you are essentially not trying to time the market...and your average cost basis will be close to the current market price.
If you want you can invest once every two weeks...you don't need to wait for the next month to come around. Also, you can purchase funds into to your Month-to-Month thing, anytime you want...
Bottom Line: Don't put all your money to work at the same time...even if you think you will miss the market bottom

Sure, you can make an investment deposit, I would suggest finding a company with a family of funds and choices. I used Edward Jones to rollover my nice amount of 401k into an IRA, they helped me allocate the funds into different fund groups to keep some diversification, they gave suggestions and assistance, but I made the decisions. If you are comfortable choosing your own fund types, you could choose something like American Century Investors or something similar and do your own allocation among funds you are comfortable with. Edward Jones does charge a fee but it does not increase as your balance increases, but they have more choices of fund families for the fee.
