I think it was a good trade as far as Vancouver is concerned. We needed a good goalie, and we got one of the best 3 goalies in the league. While I will deeply miss Bert (despite his "incident"), I think it will be best for him to head off to the Panthers, and hopefully maybe he will play well for them.

It helps everybody. I'm sure Bertuzzi wants to go to a market where he can escape his troubles of the Steve Moore incident and Luongo wants to go to a talented team. Remember, Gary Roberts and Joe Newindyke (sp) are still on the team and can offer tons of leadership to help the team win. Add Bertuzzi to the mix and you have a lot of depth in the locker room. Also, Alex Auld also went to Florida and, for a back up or third string goalie, he was phenomenal during the push for the playoffs.

Vancouver definitely got the better end of this deal. I think Florida's taking on a big problem child in Todd Bertuzzi. He's a good player, but he should have been kicked out of the league for his vicious attack on Steve Moore.
I'm a Ducks fan, and have been since they were formed, and I'd say the same thing if one of my favorite players attacked someone like that, so it's nothing personal. I just don't feel that any player, in any sport, who manages to intentionally injure someone so badly doesn't deserve to play.

Bertuzzi will be among the top scorers in the league next year. Vancouver will barely make the playoffs, and lose in the first round. Sorry Canknuckle heads, but you just don't have the defence yet. Jovo is awesome, but he can't do it himself. And Luongo is awesome too, but just look at Florida last year, great goaltending, but nobody in front to help out. The cunucks will allow less goals thanks to Luongo, but unless they step up the D they won't go far.

I'm a Canucks fan so I guess it has its ups and downs. Auld is a solid backup at goalie, but Cloutier is ALWAYS hurt and cant win big games. Bertuzzi was a big time player, but has struggled since the incident. Canucks are in rebuilding mode, so with a good young goalie, its a start.

on the best of the day, i trust Luongo continues to be put in Vancouver as Mike Gillis will discover it confusing to discover suitors. Schneider will garner a good number of pastime and shall we be genuine, Luongo become no longer the reason the Canucks were eradicated in the first round; he did what he had to do to save them in video games. to address what you've proposed, i imagine you're spot-on for his places if he does take care of to get dealt. The returns products you've indicated are fairly significant besides the undeniable fact that for a 33 year previous netminder with 10 years left on the deal, so indexed the following are some scaled decrease back opportunities from me: Tampa: they gained't provide up Hedman for optimistic. Malone sounds like a honest tournament on paper yet he seems fascinated in staying in Tampa for a at the same time as. perfect guess will be seeing Brett Connolly coming decrease back in the experience that they were to strike a deal. Florida: Weiss is a gorgeous good probability yet Luongo only got here from there and that i doubt he waives to bypass decrease back. Chicago: a guy like Kyle Beech might want to benefit a good number of pastime from the Canucks, or possibly an NHL now participant like Andrew Shaw makes extra sense. Toronto: Cody Franson would positively be the focal factor of go back the following and doubtless a decrease grade prospect. Columbus: Umberger sounds like a good in good structure yet Vancouver gained't favor to deliver decrease back an same cap go back to what they dished out. a guy like Derrick Brassard has needed out of Columbus yet would not look like a Canucks participant. possibly a youthful d-guy like David Savard? New Jersey: Like them perfect for Schneider, yet when Luongo did p.c.. up and bypass out east, do not anticipate the Devils to provide up Larsson or Volchenkov (Parise is a UFA). per chance Tedenby is going decrease back in go back?

It helps both teams. The Canucks freed up some cap space. They got a goalie that could hep them lower the score of the Flames when they play them. Any addiion like this is good for a new franchise like the Panthers.

Florida won this trade! Vancouver lost the top power forward(he needed to go however), a defenceman who was going to be their #1 defenceman and a goalie who was going to be their #1 goalie! In return we got a goalie who might be a #1, a defenceman who might play in the nhl, and a useless draft pick....
im very disappointed in my team
