The best treatment for cradle cap is to use Head and Shoulders (or any other dandruff shampoo). All it is is baby dandruff. Use it when shampooing 2x/week. My daughter had it when we took her home from the hospital. Later that week when we took her to the pediatrician, the Dr. recommended it. It cleared up almost immediately!

Aw! Don't use a toothbrush on your babies soft little head. I used Mustela Foam cradle cap shampoo. Sold at Amazaon.com Yes, it is pricey, but I bought this bottle that first week he was born. And, its still almost full. Amazing stuff!
I ran a comb through his hair after applying the shampoo. It cleared it right up.
Also, with h&s be careful - depending on young your baby is --- it may do worse damage. A newborn's skin is very sensitive!

Apply generous amount of baby oil and massage into the affected area. Then wash with baby shampoo.
You may need to do this several times before it completely goes away.

Saturate the scalp with baby oil and scrub lightly with a toothbrush. If that dosen't work use dandruff shampoo.

in the hospital you may have seen a little sponge that they bathe the babies with. it has a soft sponge on one side and soft little scrubby fingers on the other. that is a great thing to use. just shampoo and use the soft finger side to lightly lightly scrub the head. then use a little baby oil and rub it in. it should go away in a week or maybe sooner. that is what i did with my babies
