In our elementar school, we teach "good tou, bad touch." as early as pre-k. We teach sex ed in the 5th grade. We seperate the girls and boys and teach them about their anatomy and how babies are made. We tell about the bad things (STD,teenage preg) that could happen if they choose to have sex, and "preach" abstinence.
The kids that are at our school are in poverty. Most are already going through puberty. Almost all of them know what sex is (and a lot of the not-so-nice terms that are used for different sexual acts and positions) before we tell them anything. Some are already sexually active and just don't know it's a bad thing. So, yes, I think sex ed is necessary in primary grades, but not in third grade to the extent you are speaking of.

no kids should not learn it at an early age thats what started all this stuff with kids haveing sex at a young age. the childs parents should have to teach there own child about sex f thay dont thay need to get into trouble in some states there is a law about that stuff its called sexual neglect. and the parent can be put in jail for it if the kid gets caught having sex.. and u should always teach a child about abstanence and enforce it to all a person is worth. and explain to them what could happen if thay did have sex and got an STD or got someone pregnant. u never teach a kid how to have safe sex cause thay wont listen if thay dont want to or dont care and stupid ppl like u ought to have there kids taken away if u have any. cause ur kids will be curupted. i was aught sex ed in the 6th grade and thats about right if sex ed is the 6th or 7th grade no earlyer or we will really have more babys haveing babys.

I think Sex education starts to early as is. Third grade is a little to early to start sex education cause, kids at that age should not think about sex that early. If they do they parents should have taught them something.

No way. In 3rd grade, it's Pokemon, not Condoms.
I think it should start in 5th grade, because then, children become more curious about what sex is and what are the precautions and the results.

3rd grade is far to young, they dont even have the maturation programs until they reach 5th grade.
