my mother has high blood press. and is on meds for this.
she had heart surgery in jan. this year. she has been doing fine lately. yesterday she said she was having dizzy spells. her blood pressure is up 180/105 avg. she has been taking her meds. i know this is high, i have been watching her and she seems ok but should i take her to the hospital right away or could she wait and go see her doctor monday. thanks

she can wait til monday. sounds like her meds need to be higher dose. NO SALT

Given her history I'd take her to the ER pronto!!!! Don't wait till Monday. She could stroke out before then. She may have already had a stroke! The sooner she receives treatment the better her recovery will be. God bless!

my mother also has a heart condition and high blood pressure sometimes she has dizzy spells (vertigo) her doc. prescribed a med for her. I don't think its an emergency but call her doc.

You should take her to the hospital when she feels dizzy and blood pressure is high. Hypertension can cause stroke or heart attack. Never take her condition lightly.

I would call the doctor and ask them. They will tell you what you should do. If you don't feel good about having her at home and are scared, then by all means, go to the ER.

I'm really sorry to hear about your mother.. there is an easy lesson in life........ everyone has heard this but not too many people take it to heart... "It's better to be safe then sorry"

I agree that is high but you can wait until monday unless she starts acting strange. My grandmother is high like that alot.
