I have teenage boys and a husband. God forbid they would go to these sites but how do I monitor and make it hard for them to access site that are x-rated?

The possiblities for restricting them are complicated...with the easiest ways being the most costly. A service like AOL comes with it's own browser and parental settings that make it easy to restrict certain content. However, they (your family) still have the option to use another browser to circumvent the Parental Controls....
Now, monitoring them is easy, and free. With your Internet Explorer window open, click VIEW, top left. Then select EXPLORER BAR, then HISTORY. A window will open on the left portion of the screen. In it you will find complete lists of all the pages viewed in order by day.
I'm no expert but I hope these few things help you with your concerns. You may try also keeping open communication between you and them about where they go online and what they do with the time!

Download a free program called parental filter and install it on your system. Not too hard to defeat but will stop casual browsing by those without an understanding of the computer.
