Kansas is the only state below the federal designation of $5.15. It is a paltry $2.65 in Kansas, which is why that state sucks horribly.

One needs to keep in mind however, that several states, mostly in the south, have NO minimum wage requirment.

Here's a ranking which goes well with minimum wage, per capita personal income:

Whoever supports the federal minimum wage, which is $5.15. A state cannot have a wage lower than that, but they can always go higher.

A state like North Carolina would have the minimum wage, since they just support whatever the Fed minimum wage is.

Minimum wage is a federal law. All states should have the same. Based upon state taxes, though, someone might bring home more or less depending on how much is taken out of their check.

Most states are alike at the national rate. Only a few states have higher minimum wages that are determined by state law at a higher level than the national minimum.

Whoever said that it's the same in all states is an idiot. Every state has it's own minimum. My future daughter in law is in Arizona, and it's like $4 something an hour. So that pretty much blows the "Not lower than federal" rule down the crapper as well.

Only a few states have raised their minimum wage.
In most it is still the shameful $5.15, which is enough for no one.
