If you did not feed him directly out of the jar then I would put it in the fridge, but I would give it to him the next time you feed him just to be safe. Sweet potatoes sounds as good as anything else to wash out of his clothes...lol I started my little guy out on cereal today and he absolutely LOVES it! He is such a piggy that he didn't waste a bite! lol

as long as you dont feed the baby out of the jar, you can save the left overs in the fridge. just make sure that you feed the baby from a bowl and not the jar, it will grow bacteria if you feed him from the jar. sweet potatoes wasnt the best thing to start him on but it will be okay. normally you start them with the bland veggies like squash, then the green veggies (green beans and peas) and then the orange ones because the orange ones are sweet and it may turn him off to the non sweet ones. and after all the veggies then try fruit. you should only give one new food in a 3-4 day period to see if he is allergic to anything. since you have already given him sweet potatoes, just stick to veggies for now, any veggie, and then fruit.

It should tell you on the side of the jar how long you can keep it in the frig. Also you should not try any different food for at least 3 days to a week to make sure that there is not an allergic reaction to the food.
Good Luck

put 1/2 in a bowl for him and the other 1/2 in the fridge but no longer than 24 hours. i wouldent keep it out more than and hour. yeah sweet potatoes are a good choice thats what my son started out on. thay say try a new food once a week to make sure the baby has no food alergys. try introucing him to a fruit next like bananas or pears or something like that. my son loved em both but he loves almost all fruits and veggies. depending on how old ur son is id wait on meats ur suposed to wait on giving them meats tilll there like 6-9 months old

I always threw away any leftovers. Just to be safe!
Every 3 or 4 days I would introduce a new food. That way if they are going to have an allergy to something new you don't have to guess what it would be.
My kids pediatrician said it doesn't matter if you feed them veggies or fruits first. It all tastes different to them and it is more about a learning experience more than anything. You can't spoil an infant to a certain kind of food anyway.
Good luck!

Baby food can stay in the refridgerator for up to 48 hours. What was suggested before was a good idea-try making the baby food. I make it, and at 5 1/2 months old, my daughter eats avocado, zucchini, summer squash, acorn/butternut squash, mango, pears, apples, bananas, peas, carrots, green beans, peaches, and yogurt. Try the zucchini/summer squash. You don't want your child to get used to eating things that are only sweet.
Remember, no strawberries or honey until your child is one year old. I wouldn't give meat until at least six months, though pediatricians usually recommend waiting until 8-9 months old. Wait 3 days between trying new foods-or, 5-7 if allergies run high in your family. Look out for rashes and upset stomach. If you are concerned your child may have an allergy to a particular food, stop giving it to him/her and call your pediatrician. Good luck!

with the jar food you should put half jar in a bowl b4 you feed and put the other half in the fridge for about 24 hours. if you dont use it in 24 hours you should throw it away.

Keep it in the refrigerator. Just warm it up and it will be fine. You should wait a few days before you introduce new foods to make sure there are no allergic reactions.

You can refrigerate baby food for 48 hours and then throw it out. Try other veggies before trying fruits. You're doing great.
