I always get at least 8 hours sleep, but when I wake up I always feel like I hav'nt slept at all. Sometimes I take a nap after breakfast, and waste the day, cos Im too tired to do anything. I live in a very hot climate and I only work in the evenings. I only have energy after the sun goes down, so usually then its too late to do any chores I have like shopping etc.
Any tips on how to be more awake in the mornings?

you may need more vitamins, my suggestion, when you wake up in the morning, is to make yourself a milkshke, of Carnation Instant Breakfast, a banana, milk, and a scoop of Ice cream, a great way to start the morning, and gives you lots of energy, also, since you live in a hot climate, drink gatorade, instead of water, the gatorade, will help maintain, the chemichals, and nutrients, etc, that your body needs, because you lose a lot of these through prespiration, also wear cool clothing, something light, and not dark.

The heat does that to people. I live in the desert and I know exactly what you mean. I wake up very early when it is still fairly cool. I get my chores done and run the errands that I need to run. That's on my days off of work.
It helps to keep a cool water mister in your room. You will sleep better and wake up feel more rejuvinated.

Try taking a quick cool shower too.
Keeping yourself cool at night is the key.
you probably think that you are sleeping good, but you really aren't . If you cannot get a cool water mister then sleep with a fan right next to you.

This is probably going to sound silly but you have no energy because you aren't active enough. If you succumb to tiredness all the time you will never win the battle. Try not to take a nap. Too much sleep is just as bad as not getting enough. It makes you feel lethargic. As soon as you've had your breakfast get up and do the dishes. If you have any shopping to do, go and do it. Don't put it off until later. Get things done as and when they need doing. Because you will be keeping yourself active you will feel more energetic.

You do not feel like you get enough sleep because your body is still tired and sore from the past day, I suggest to do to sleep earlier and wake up 5 minutes later. Then once you wake up you should wash your face with icey water. DO NOT eat any sugar for breakfeast because the sugar turns into fat which makes you tired at breakfest. I suggest to drink lots of water to keep you hydrated and always try to stay up beat and plan something to look forward to. That might help you and it might not but, I hope it does!!!

Before you go to bed, like about 30 minutes before, eat a small snack. I suggest 1-2 oz of turkey (triptophan - spelling approximate), a cracker or a cookie, or if you are concerned about your weight - a low glycemic carbohydrate and some nuts - almonds or peanuts are best. This is a recipe for some slow burning energy that will help level your blood sugar out for the night, leaving you a supply of energy to start your morning.

If this works, get checked out for high insulin and/or low blood sugar.

make sure that you are eating the right things. coffee helps my wake up. a cool shower. and exercise(not like running but something easy to get your body moving) i always do a devotional and read my bible in the morning. it is intellectually stimulating, and it gets your brain going. that is what i do but whatever you find that works for you is the best thing. if you need to get more than 8 hours of sleep than that is what you should do.

My sincere answer is to love life!!! Love each day as if it was the last day of all. This happens to many people, and they think it's usually because they're stressed and a whole bunch of other nonesense stuff!! Seriously find what interests you, have lots of goals and believe you me that you will jump out of bed, excited to see what a new day awaits.
