I have tried to download the driver from the Canon website. I do not know how to save it so that it will install and when I try to use the automatic installation, all I get is a blank box from about.com.

create a folder..call it what you will...before the actual download it will ask where to send it to that folder..If your syatem is running right it will ask do you want to save or open. open It in that same folder. Then go to your printer and when it asks for disk or software send it to the folder you created to find the inf file the system should setup on its own now!

I know its a bit confusing, lol... but you don't need to contact customer service just to get help installing your new printer. Odds are you just need to install the drivers and or the software, I looked up your printer and found the specific part of the website that offers the downloads for the softwear and drivers, try them both, any further trouble, let me know. Copy and paste the site into your web browser, GOOD LUCK!!!:

Try going to canon's web site at www.canon.com. Then click on costumer support. There publish your error. You should get help in your e-mail in about three days.
