When loading itunes on a new computer do you lose all files on ipod when you connect to new computer?

My computer got struck by lighting and I lost all files on it. I got a new computer and will be installing itunes. I have 600+ songs on my ipod and when I connect the ipod to the new computer I need to know if I will lose the files on the ipod. Or will the files in the ipod upload to the new computer?

Don't worry, you won't lose the songs on your iPod.
When you install iTunes on your new computer, and connect your iPod, you'll be able to upload them from it.

Nope -- your songs will still be there.
