During the Revolution, an estimated 20% of the Continental line was made up of black troops, who were integrated with white troops. It is ironic that this was the last time units were integrated until the time of the Korean War in the early 1950's. In the Civil War, over180,000 black troops fought for the Union. The most famous (see the movie "Glory,") was probably the 54th Massachusetts).

Yes and no. yes there were blacks in regiments. No , they werent made up of completely blacks, they were mixed.

there was in the civil war and it was called the 54th massachusetts regiment and they were all black and worked without pay
