Jimi Hendrix died in London in 1970, he only really had 3 years of proper recording but after his death he became a lot more famous and is now a guitar idol for many
I recently got into Hendrix and I love his music which shows you how good and undated it is, it was big in the 70's

Although Jimi died Sept. 18, 1970, he was a big influence on the music scene, and still is...quite a bit of his music was released after his death, (he was only prominent 1967-70), and just recently, his album "Are You Experienced" was inducted into the U.S. Nat'l Recording Registry...he has been nominated as the number one greatest guitar player of all time ('Rolling Stone' magazine)...
...Long Live Jimi and his Music!...
