Considering all other actions the Pentagon has taken in the last 50 years, why would anyone give anything they publish or say ANY credence what so ever? The Pentagon is a self-serving group of military that fights for money....no more, no less- an nationalized mercenary group of ignorant service people who cannot catch one target...every time this group attempts to do anything, we hear nothing but excuses as to why it failed. These are the same people who send our men to death daily, with the quip, "acceptable losses!" Acceptable to whom??? Certainly not to me. Are these dead men acceptable losses to YOU...I would really like to know!

Mental health experts abandoned that position. I trust the American Psychological Association to tell me what's a psychological matter and what's not. Not the Pentagon.
This is completely about the military, and gays in the military, and it's a stupid argument. I'm tired of my government making me look like because I'm gay, I'm this sex crazed nymphomanic and I'm a danger to your children and my own coworkers.
For the record, I'm a US Coast Guard Auxiliarist. Ask the other gentlemen aboard my ship if I'm a problem, or if I go there to train and do my job. Thank God the Coast Guard is an independent agency and doesn't have to answer to the Pentagon. It avoids having to deal with this garbage.

Of course its in the interest for the Pentagon to classify it as a mental disorder. The military hates gays and men in the military are terrified of working with them and fear being raped or hit on by them which is ridiculous. Gays have much more to fear from the oppresion from the straights than vice versa. No one was ever beaten up or murdered for being a straight. There's also the mistaken belief from the straights that ALL gays are like the queer eye weirdos you see on tv. Of course, in reality they are the exception not the norm. It's not a mental disorder just because the dumbass Pentagon says so. The American Psycological Association who are experts on the subject have said for over 30 years it is not a mental disorder and its previous classification as a mental disorder was a mistake.

It's abundantly clear that it is not a mental disorder. All scientific evidence that is held as legitimate has held that as true for more than 50 years.
The only countries in the Western World that have a ban on gays in the military are Russia, Belarus, Croatia, and the USA. Some nations that don't: England, Sweden, Germany, Israel, France...

No it's not a fricken mental disorder! Is being in a guy-girl relationship a mental illness? No. You can't help who you love. We are all just people. And, technically back in the day it was listed in the DSM as a diagnosis, but it's been removed for a long time now.
