Your asking for great heavy metal bands but your answers you have had so far are poofy soft rock bands (Metallica excluded)
If you want true great Heavy Metal you can't beat Manowar - The true Kings of Metal!!!
If that's too much for you, try early Iron Maiden (anything before the 'Somewhere in time' album)

Personally I think that Black Sabbath is the sh*t,but a bit old school.One of the younger bands I like is In Flames,they have fresh lyrics and kickass riffs...

Sikth cos they got really funky bass goin on, and Diseased Maggotectomy cos it's my boyfriends band, and they rock in a crazy grind-gory-bloody-evil-hell noise kinda way!
