A week ago, Bill Clinton made a speech that accused the GOP and its policies of causing hurricanes to hit South Florida and New Orleans in recent years. He went on to explain further and by doing so he was trying to create a consipiracy theory that somehow government scientists have created a magical machine where it enables us to push a button and order a destructive storm to hit a particular region of the country at any time.
This made me laugh at the incredibly stupid idea that technology can somehow control the weather patterns the country experiences. Has former President Clinton gone completely insane or was he just trying to whip up his desperately stupid constituents in order to attack the Bush Administration.

If you ask me, the man is a certifiable nutjob who needs to be locked up in the funny farm. The DNC is losing more and more credibility as each day passes.

Good riddance to bad rubbish

I love how the liberal media didn't report in the palm beach post the insane remark Clinton made regarding how the GOP now is able to control the weather LOL

STUPID LIBERAL TRAILER TRASH

I watched this news report on Fox News Channel while I was on a plane flying from South Florida to NJ. It was filmed and recorded. The biased liberal news media (CNN, NBC, CBS) will never show you this. Someone posted a newspaper story published in the Palm Beach Post which is the worst rag of a newspaper in the entire country. I should know I live in West Palm Beach Florida.

It has become a requirement that to be a Liberal Democrat; you must participate in the conspiracy theory game that seems to be the only way these people can even make the headlines; Remember these people have lost power at all levels of the Federal Gov. They are basically desperate for attention of any kind no matter how absurd the issue.

I think people here haven't heard of the experiments the US govt did of spraying some iodide (mercuric or silver) into clouds thus causing it to precipitate. China does it kinda regularly. So no weather control is not "unheard of". If you never heard of it, that's your ignorance and nobody else's liability.

Secondly on a subtler note that Clinton touched, which probably didn't register on your thick brain, the government does actually have control on the weather. It's called global warming, green house gases, etc etc. The earth has never been this warm in 2000 years (but go ahead and deny that scientific fact and call the scientists left wing liberals). And if you studied meteorology you would understand how temperature affects global weather. You probably think of America is the be-all, end-all but unfortunately Nature doesn't recognize your claim and earth functions as one whole unit. Warm something up here, something else reacts in another place. For a starter, lets begin with something that's not tied to your political beliefs. Try reading up on how cutting down the Amazon rainforest causes in the shift in the warm and cool currents of the ocean.

If you are not educated in the sciences you are really not qualified to talk about this just in order to get a political spin. Some of you demand that freedom of speech goes too far, and these are the times when I think it does indeed go too far. Stupid, uneducated, religious fanatic republicans shouldn't be allowed to talk on topics that require a deep understanding of the physical sciences.

If you can give me a source, I might believe you. Otherwise, I'll just assume you're making up the part about the machine.

If you're referring to the proof that global warming has led to an increase in Hurricanes, then it's true and has been backed by verified science for several years now. The logical conclusion is - Republicans make laws that allow companies to pollute more - which leads to more greenhouse gasses in the atmosphere - which leads to global warming - which leads to more hurricanes.

As far as the magical machine, either you're making it up, or either you or Clinton have been smoking something.

ADDED NOTE:

If you'll actually read my post, I never said Republicans make hurricanes - their policies CAN lead to an increase in hurricanes, and they have been increasing. Here's the evidence from the World Meteorolgoical Organization (not the DNC):

http://www.planetark.org/dailynewsstory.cfm/newsid/35795/newsDate/27-Mar-2006/story.htm

See, some of us read things like SCIENCE and independent studies. Unlike others, who only prattle off the talking points that they receive from their parites.

As far as Clinton goes, here's the only quote I could find and it came from a Republican Blog:
"As Tropical Storm Alberto threatened to strengthen into the ninth hurricane in 22 months to affect Florida, former President Clinton predicted Monday that Republican environmental policies will lead to more severe storms.

“It is now generally recognized that while Al Gore and I were ridiculed, we were right about global warming,” Clinton said at a fundraiser for the Florida Democratic Party. “It’s a serious problem. It’s going to lead to more hurricanes.”

I don't see anything about a magical machine, do you?

So, I'll throw the question back your way...Have you gone completely insane?

You have things way wrong!Global warming is a reality that is increasing the intensity and volume of tropical storms and hurricanes. This has been lied about by the present administration and meteorologists were even hushed up about broadcasting the reality of it.There is no magic button to cause a hurricane,Bill Clinton had this country in good shape when he left in 2,000.We had 400 billion to spend, now we owe 8 trillion.Ask people in the south what the think of the response to Katrina! But if you will notice look how fast Texas and Florida get federal response!

Your assertion is wrong and illogical. Your exegerrations are also not funny, meaning they lack creativity. Instead berating and rambling a well stated argument would help your cause not gibberish.

The issue is not do hurricanes hit, the issue is how government action affects global warming and hence the consquences of global warming.

might i add your horrible at rebuttle.

Global warming is real, the actions taken by government can effect Global warming. thats it.

you fail yourself and your party and for lying, you fail your family. feel the shame.

"It is now generally recognized that while Al Gore and I were ridiculed, we were right about global warming," Clinton said at a fundraiser for the Florida Democratic Party. "It's a serious problem. It's going to lead to more hurricanes."

oh, and uh.......DUH.

Oh yeah, so much worse then the nut bag we have in office now, who said he is bringing accountability back to the White House. I have yet to see Bush say that he was wrong about a single thing. Maybe I am wanting too much by asking Bush to stick with what he said.

Can you please add a comment to this question: is the text of his speech recorded anywhere? Where can we find proof he actually talked about government scientists creating "a magical machine where it enables us to push a button and order a destructive storm "?

Where and when was this speech given?
