funny you should ask...I'm heading there in 2 weeks. there's hiking and mostly swimming in the frio river. many people think there's just the park and ignore the rest of the area. if you want to go camping there are many camp sites in the park and surrounding areas. i recommend kayaking. there are some very nice areas that can only be reached by kayak. outside the park there are hay rides and horses you can ride. in the park there are a bunch of activities. last year i was there for 3 days. this year it'll be 5 days...oh yeah there real deep areas in the river so clear you can see all the way to the bottom fish and all

Well, I am 35 yrs old and I've been going to Garner since I was
10 yrs old that is every summer nonstop...I love it, When I got married and had my girls I still take them and they are addicted to having a Garner Summer every year.
""""""""My Girls Are What You Call Garner Girls""""""
You can do almost anything, like hiking, climbing, trail walks, hay riding, biking, basketball, volleyball, paddle boating, canoing, and they also have a small putting hole and in the evening, they also hold a country dance for everyone. It's great...
If camping with tent I always take a small window unit air conditioner and fan don't forget red ant killer you'll need it
If camping with RV you are in great shape.......Enjoy......

I also read your question regarding you guinea pig, My daughter also has one by the name of Lulu, I would encourage you not to take it because the raccoons will get it, Let me also tell you to make sure you cover your food well and store it on something high or put it on your picnic table at night because the raccoons come out at night very hungry, also take sunblock, board game, playing cards, and if you would like take some Christmas lights so that you can put them around your camp site so that at night you don't have to waist your batteries. You will also see many deers.....Ask to stay in the Oakmont Camping Area That's awesome
