Israel, a tiny middle eastern country with few allies, surrounded by enemies, and home to a population of discontented, and extremist, muslims who want them wiped off the map, was created, survived three large-scale wars against multiple enemies, and a fifty year terrorist siege, almost devoid of outside help. Does this point to devine intervention, or are they just that good/lucky at survival?

I understand that the US has backed them, but they have done all of their own fighting, usually against near impossible odds.

It seems like it must suck to be the "chosen people" sometimes, but then again having THE BIG GUY as your wingman sure must come in handy.

Israel, since the begining of intifada, killed "much" more palestinian than them.
This country is rich, the water selled by the government is 4 times "less expensive" than the water sell to palestinian.
I can add that, while palestinian haven't water enough to survive, Israel use the water with industry!
Never forget that if, for instance, China was more powerful than USA ( it will be done near 2050) and China take 100 000 000 ethiopians ( you are 180 000 000) what would you do? if you are poor and the ethiopians would become rich and protected, and they would use your natural wealth, wouldn't you become angry??

The USA provides them with advanced weapons and every Israeli has to have mandatory military service, so the whole nation is an army basically...oh yes, and the USA backs them up big time or they wouldn't have survived this long...I do not think God is on their side, that is myth and bring God down to human level as one who plays favorites and condones atrocities, I mean Palestinians are people, too, and I do not believe God wants to see their little children splattered about so.

Israel's survival defies all convention. There's obviously something more at play there.
