I immediately think "blues". It can be a great combo.

That's a difficult combo.Both are lead instruments and cover about the same musical range.I mean you could use different Sax's,tenor then baritone then soprano but it would get old after awhile.You could use jazz chording for the guitar but then the guitar would be stuck handling the chording for the entire gig.
I believe the sax and guitar are too much alike dynamically to be interesting as a combo.But hey,I thought Jimmy Carter was an excellent president!What'd I know?(Do you mean just sax and guitar?)

i think it sounds really good. I play guitar myself and I enjoy jamming with people who play saxophone

Love it, but its a dying trend. About the only rock band doing it right now, would be INXS....I think.
