for instance if you are talking to a person via email and they are supposedly in Nigeria but they have a Yahoo member name.

Right click on the address of the sender and click on "properties".
then click on "details"...even further "message source". I think you will find all your answers in there.

1. Look at the email headers.
Yahoo mail: Options>General Preferences

Under Messages section, select "Show all headers on incoming messages", click save.


2. Do a whois on the ip address

look at the mails properties this will show its start and ending route
