Why is Yahoo sending so much spam to my normal inbox?

The spam guard is doing NOTHING these days. It's pretty obnoxious getting 30 emails a day in my inbox from Viagra.

Spam is based on several different items. One would be the wording and the other is origination. If you bounce amass mailing from a decent site and the mailing is for a porn site, it will get through. So long as the wording doesn't refer to vulgarity. The main thing to do is teach spam protection by opening the mail and checking the 'THis is spam' box. That will be record ed at the server and anytime anything comes through with similarities, it will be blocked. Just like virus's there is somebody out there trying to beat the system.

I have some suggestions:

1. Verify that your spam filter is on by going to: Mail Options > Spam filter and make sure the filter is turned "On."

2. While in Spam Protection page, make sure "Add the sender's email address to my blocked addresses list
" is checked.

3. Next, go to Mail Options > Filters. Press [Add] to create a new filter. For example, subject: viagra then send to Trash. The free Yahoo! mail account allows you up to 15 filters.

4. Go to Mail Options > Block Addresses and enter any offending e-mail addresses.

5. Finally, you might want to try using a desktop e-mail client like Mozilla's Thunderbird or Microsoft's new Live Mail desktop e-mail client. These e-mail clients have more robust spam filters.

yahoo don't send them to you. but i don't think they are trying to hard to stop them either. i get 2 or 3 a day with gmail

I can not imagine how Yahoo or any other ISP can call unsolicited e-mail SPAM.They would be sued.
