People are ignorant and full of fear. The media has made out a "sex offender" to be a child molester or rapist in every ones eyes now, even though many of them are on the lists for things like streaking or being 18-19 dating someone a little younger. There are children as young as 6-7 on the sex offender registration, even though i don't honestly believe they can truly be offenders. It is not a fact that 8 out of 10 offenders commit a crime again. In fact registered sex offenders have one of the lowest percentages of re-offending of any crime, including drug dealing, theft, and murder.

You obviously do not understand the damage you did. You are still taking a "victim stance". How do I know? My son was a victim. You bet people hate sex offenders for what they did to a child. However, with a LOT of time with NO indiscretions and nothing that can even be assumed as being treatening to the community. This is going to take YEARS and YEARS. Some people will never trust you. Live with it. You violated a child. No matter what your current thinking. No matter whether you will ever perpetrate or not ever again. The community will never look at you the same. For that matter, neither will your family although they know you better than most and will trust you sooner.
Your family will be your best asset. They will stand up with you but they will also always be careful.
Your best bet is develop adult friends that you can slowly develop trust relationships with. NEVER be with a child alone. You can overcome this but it is going to take a long time.
Unfortunately your victim will NEVER be the same. Remember that before you take any action with ANYONE.
The only way you will assauge the guilt is to vow to yourself never to be that person that perpetrated again EVER.

They should have thought about that before they touched those children. Probably doing the same thing to the children in their own family. I have no feelings for people that hurt innocent children. Put their asses in the gas chamber. Maybe then the dogs will think twice about harming another child.

because their victims have families too, which has been shattered and upset... and lives have been ruined by the sex offender. No compassion here for the offender.

a sex offender did something relay, relay, relay bad. not just bad, but totaly sick and disgusting. If anyone deserves the hate, it's them.
Sure they have families, but they should have thought of that before they commit ed their sexual act.

Yes, they do. And I imagine they are shattered by the acts of their loved one. But I promise you they are not as shattered as the victims and never can be.
