im sorry to say that sex offenders are sick individuals. they need mental health help and apparently they dont go for help until they are caught. their minds dont work the same as other individuals. yes they are people to.however we have to protect our society for future reocurrences and that is why sex offenders have to register. im wondering why you asked this question? is someone in your family a sex offender ? or are you? the reason i ask is because most people would like to protect our society and be alittle leary of sex offenders. i use to live by an elderly gentleman that was a sex offender in his past. he was very nice i visited him. he would bake goodies for our family and we exchanged xmas cards and birthday cards. however i did not ever let my two children ever go to his house without their dad or me. we never mentioned we knew he was a sex offender and he treated us very well.people can change i feel he did when he got older. the fact is you still have to be carefull you dont have to be mean ,be discreet. i did not mean to offend you in any way by asking if you was a sex offender,so please dont take it to heart. your probably not most likely curious. every good father, mother, sister, brother,,aunt, uncle ,niece, newphew ect wants to protect their family. example: if you knew their was a killer in your block that was reported on the news would you sleep good until he was caught? no, we wouldnt we would protect ourselfs and family. so that is why if you think people are being hard on offenders their not. remember, some of those people may be victims from sex offenders or their family members. if you had a life taken away or someone violated in your family you would feel differently.thank you for your time. i hope this will help you and be benificial your friend ( kat)

They are NOT people too! They are scum bags who should not be out on the streets. Sex offenders do NOT change...but they are released from prison daily, only to turn around and repeat the offense, often escalating to great violence. Where in the hell are you coming from? Get real. AS far as I am concerned, a sex offender is best served with hanging. And I am basically a liberal guy, but in this case, I have seen too much too many times to be lenient.

YOU have to be kidding right? true they are people ,but very verysick people who really should be locked up in a mental hospital, would you want a sex offender to molest your kids or any kids that you know I hope not, would you want them to rape you or anyone you know? I think not!! They dont deserve to be out in society where they can hurt other people!! once a sex offender always a sex offender!! they do it once they do it again they will never usually learn their mistake! that is why they should be put in a mental hospital!!

My problem is the sex offender registry. If a sex offender gets out of jail after his time was served, then why does he have to register as a sex offender where ever he lives? If he is still dangerous, then he shouldn't be out of jail. Period. If they do get out of jail, then they have served their debt, and should be free.
Note: I don't care if there was a mandatory life sentence for sex offenders. That's fine. But you can't let them out of jail and then claim they are still dangerous. Either they're free or not.

They can do whatever to themselves, but when they infringe on the natural rights of others and ruin their lives, they deserve some punishment for their actions and should face up to the consequences. Yes, they are people, and society only forgives them when they repent. Because we live in a utilitarian society, to protect the majority from the actions inflicted on innocents by sex offenders, they ought to be locked up until they can safely be said to not want to attempt such actions again.

They may be people but they are hurting other people on purpose. How could you even wonder that? Do u want to be a victim of a sex offender or worse do u want your children to be a victim.

yes I agree.....they are people and they are sick in the head but that doesn't mean we don't have anything wrong with us either. God didn't make perfect people. Truth is that society is hard on any felon. Society is pretty negative and paranoid these days. Also they are not as forgiving as you thought. Part of that is because we live in dangerous times with the help of the media coverage (and that's not even a bad thing)! Think of it like that? I know that they are people too, it's not like we disrespect them, but people alway have a sting when it comes to major felons. Who wouldn't?

because sex offenders are worse than murderers, they leave the victims alive and possibly infected and definiteley affected. maybe they are young victims and don't know any better and learn to live like that, maybe their victims are pre-teens and don't know how to say no and learn to live like that. maybe they are older and have no choice at all. i have never heard of a nice sex offender. i do know the difference of a violent sex crime...any sex crime and it's offenders leave a heavy burden for anyone to bear...god bless the little children.
